Billy Chinook

Iris has never been boating before.
We had to fix that.
Today was the perfect day to do that. It was a beautiful day and barely anyone was on the lake. Score one for Team Widing. There isn't a whole lot to say other than we had a great time.  Lots of crazy rides were had, we saw wild horses, we jumped of bridges, Ramses (begrudgingly) took a ride on the tube and now Iris can say she's been tubing/boat.
Mission accomplished.
Enjoy our pictures!

Fun Center

I have been trying to come up with "American" things we can do with Iris, so today we went mini golfing, go cart racing and bumper car-ing (is that a word?).  Iris wasn't even sure how to hold a golf club saying that she has only every seen golf on American movies. It was a hilllllllarious time because all four kids were a giant mess on the course. The golf balls were flying everywhere and no one scored well. But, they had fun and it was a kick in the pants to watch.
By the way--I won. Someone get me a green jacket.
After our 18 holes of golf that lasted way longer than it needed to we hit the track. Another first for Iris. After explaining how the car works the girls all shot off. Then there was Ansen and I. I swear our car had a problem. We held our own though.

The girls placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Ansen and I placed "best looking drivers."
The bumper cars things were insane. I'm shocked no one left with a concussion.  They laughed and yelped the entire time.  I know this place is a total money suck but it is so fun to do it every once and a while.  Especially if you have a first timer.

This evening we had dessert and games with 3 other families from our ward.  There was ice cream and children everywhere.  Just the way I like it!

Lava Tubes

We needed a family outing so we headed down to the lava tubes and the obsidian flows just south of us.  We have found a few different tubes since we moved here and haven't been to this one for a while. I forgot how huge and long this one is.
And dark.  Super, super dark.

The weather was funny today because we were freezing in the tube and the roasting as we hiked the flow but the view was well worth it.

These kidlets of ours  were just plain tuckered out at the end of the day.  Well most of them.  Brays is in the middle of rereading the Harry potter series again and every second she gets her nose is in a book. Can't say I blame her; she gets it from me.
