Days 6 and 7: A Little R & R

With all the fun and excitement going on around here, it was time to take a "time-out." Days 6 and 7 were spent hanging around the house playing and, well, as you can see...napping. We cruised the neighborhood on our bikes and in our rain boots. After all, this is Oregon.
Yea, rain boots here too. It was 80 degrees out. She just loves her boots.
We taught Nikki how to use the Wiggle Cars. A little tip: "You gotta use those hips!"
(Sorry, I can't get this picture to flip)
Auntie Jamie made cookies with the kids...and then forgot about them in the oven. A little crispy but still yummy:)
Sprinkler time!
The boys in their SpiderMan pj's. Aren't they cute?
Pool time!
We had a lot of fun visiting with family and we are so glad they made the big trip to come see us!

Day 5: Fun With Animals

The Oregon Zoo was calling our name. So we went. We spent 4 1/2 hours walking up and down the hills of the zoo enjoying every animal. My favorite picture of the whole day. All four kiddos loved the Sea Lions.
We had a "beary" good time showing Brockie all the animals.
Ansen's very favorite, the elephant.
Steph showing her enthusiasm for the Primates.
A much needed nap for Mr. Brockden.
We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. A perfect day for the animals to be out and active. Jayden could stay at the zoo for days on end and has already asked to go back for her 8th birthday (one week from today). I think that may be a little too soon but the Oregon Zoo is one of our favorite family day trips. We met up with Kirstin's best friend Bree and sent her to stay at Bree and Russel's for a few days. Thanks for coming to visit Kirsy, we had lots of fun with you!

Day 4: Jettin' And The Family

Day 4 was just as busy as days 1, 2, and 3. We headed into Portland. We took the girls down to Portland's Saturday Market. (It's an open air market under one of Portland bridges featuring Oregon's local artists) A few of the girls got some henna on their hands. It looks really neat and it will be gone in a week or two. Jayden and Braley were especially interested in this lady. She stands super still until you put money in her little case. Then, she moves around and blows you a kiss. Guess who change wallet is completely empty? Oh yeah, that would be me.
Next we headed off to go a Willamette Jet Boat Tour. We toured all of Portland's bridges. Below is us after the ride. The driver got up to 50 mph and then spun us around over and over. FUN! By the end we were soaked!!!
This is how Ansen felt about it (at least for about 10 minutes until the driver soaked us all).
Stephanie, Jamie, Braley, Nikki, Brockie, Jayden
Kirstin and Jason sat on the side that got the most wet. Lucky them.
Jason won the prize for being the most wet.
After looking around Portland for the day we were in need of a nice clean, newly remolded house to crash. So we (all 10 of us) headed to Uncle Eric's and Aunt Cheryl's house. We visited for a few hours and enjoyed being with family and eating Aunt Cheryl's carrot cake....sooo good. We couldn't leave without a family picture.

Day 2 And 3: Fun At The Sea

We headed to beautiful, sunny Seaside on Friday and Saturday. It was sure beautiful but not sunny. That's okay though we still had a blast. It was Nikki's first time to the Pacific Ocean and she got the real Northwest beach experience. It was WINDY! We took tons of pictures but this one just shows you the Forsberg girls do have talent...or is it balance...or have we just watched Karate Kid too many times? Look at those crane posses...incredible.Who can go to the beach without going on the Tilt-A-Whirl and Bumper Cars? Not us. We braved both and WOW, they should hand out barf bags after the rides. I was feeling mighty queasy (and sat out during the bumper cars...your welcome to those closest to me who did not have to endure my weak stomach) but everyone else did the impossible! Good job you guys! (Especially Jayden and Braley) Of course we did the Seaside Carousel and loved it! p.s. Take your Dramamine before that too...that sucker goes so fast!

The beach was gray and windy but we had a lot of fun playing in the water. Okay, okay, we didn't actually get in, it was really just ankle deep. That Pacific Ocean is COLD! We also went to the Seaside Aquarium and feed the seals. Jayden, Braley, Ansen and Brockden loved the touch pools.

Next time we head to the beach we will go in November. It always seems to be sunny and in the 70's when we go in the winter.

Day 1: Fun In The Sun!

They made it! A little later than expected, but they are here. We started the day early and did our best to stay in the Oregon sunshine all day. It is so good to have Kirstin, Jamie, Nikki and Brockden here. The kids are loving eachother and we are excited to have a whole week with them. We started our day by taking a hike down by the Tualain River.

Stop number 2 was to the Wilsonville Fountain. We palyed in the water, at the park and played a lengthy game of "Tag, You're It!" The sun was nice and bright and Kirstin kept showing us her moon. So I am sharing it with you! You are Welcome.
We ended the day at Jaon's parents house for a bbq and also to prove that we all have what it takes to be high schoolcheerleaders. Just look at these jumps. Personally, I am impressed with all our flexibility.
We had a great day. We are exhausted but have a really fun day planed for tomorrow so stay tuned.

This Is The Place!

This is it! Home sweet home. I thought I'd give you a tour. Things are looking bare and I am sorry about that but I haven't gotten to hanging picture quite yet. My sisters and nephew are flying in tonight and I decided to post now instead of a week from now. SO pretend there are pretty pictures of my cute family all over the place. To the right of our house is a large empty field. We just found out that the field is being made into a neighborhood park. WOW are we going to LOVE that. I may even get out of buying a swing set. Ohhhhh, maybe I'll have to get an extra big pool. Hmmmmm...... Anyway here is our new place from the outside. Now lets take a tour of the inside, shall we? This is what you see when you walk in the front door. Office and stairs to upstairs on the right and garage door and 1/2 bath on the left. Living Room. I can't wait to get pictures up. My kitchen, dining area, AND my new table. I love it! See that window above the sink? That will overlook the new park. Whose gonna love that? ME! The office. One of Jason's two "Man Caves." The other is his bathroom upstairs. We all do our best to stay out of both of them. The girls room. Jayden's bed is purple and Braley's is pink. Hannah Montana and Disney Princesses are all over their walls.Stephanie's room. The girl is such a neat freak and I love it!Ansen's room. Cars, Super Hero's and Monster Trucks cover his walls. The Happy Birthday poster under the window saying "Happy Birthday!" is from Grandpa Widing's b-day party the other night. Playroom/Place for my sisters to sleep. Our bedroom, bathroom and Stephanie making herself comfy in MY tub. Seems like everyone but me is getting time in that sucker.

Yes, this is my son. Naked. In the back yard. At least we don't have neighbors...yet. They are in for an eyeful that's for sure.
So this is our new place. We are adjusting and learning to like having more space. It does take some getting used to. Come and visit us anytime. We would love to show it off in person but more importantly, we would love to see you!
