Goodbyes

She kissed them and sent them off to school Monday morning before she flew out.  They sure were happy to have a little Grandma time and so were Jason and I.
Look at this girl on her tippy toes trying hard to be taller than Grandma.  Really Grandma has 6 inches on her but she'll be there son enough.
These two sure do look alike to me. Brays is a tender heart and was so sad Grandma was leaving but they will see each other soon enough.
And these two. Harry Potter champs and roommates for the last week.  He loved every second.  Seriously.

Thanks for coming Mom! Love you.

Game night

Our kids are at a fun age where we can (for the most part) sit down and play a "big kid" game with ease.  It's fun.  Really fun.  Our current family favorite is Clue: World of Harry Potter.  So, so fun.  We just had to play with Grandma.
Ansen chose Grandma as his partner.  They were Neville.
Everyone else was on their own. Jason was Ron and Kahau was Harry.
Brays was Luna and I was Ginny.  We were all trying to find out who (Draco, Snatcher, Bellatrix...)  killed Hermione (gasp!), in what area (Hogwards, Misitry of Magic, Weasley Wizard Wheezes...) with what magical item (love potions, stupify.....)

As you can see the game was intense and you'd never believe who won.  Grandma and Ansen and on 1/3 sheer luck!  Good job guys.  The kids have already decided that the game will come with us to Massachusetts this summer.  Grandma you better bring your A game...Jason is looking for revenge.

It's open, it's open!

A few years ago it was announced that our Temple would be getting a visitors center.  This past weekend it opened to the public.  After church on Sunday we headed to the Temple and took a look-see.

What a beautiful place.  In such a small area they have really given people the opportunity to learn more about the Savior, our Church and who we are as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Jason and I are so excited that we are able to have a place like this to direct our friends and also return with our family.
Coming to Portland?  This is a must see.

Tacos corona

After Ansen and Braley's basketball games on Saturday we did what we always do-went and stuffed our faces with tacos!!  We had Grandma and Grandma and Grandpa Widing and Bruce with us.  What a fun lunch.  My mom couldn't come from so far and not get herself and authentic Little Mexico taco.  Seriously, they are my favorite.  Plus it gave everyone time to visit and catch up.

 I have
 the cutest
kids...even when they are all sweaty from playing an awesome game.

 Behold the bounty

Who wants a taco?

Home and Garden Show

We went looking for awesome ideas for the house and yard.  We made some appointments to meet a remodel company (for the kitchen-someday), the bug guy (to rid us of spiders), the crawl space guy (to make the underside of the house not so creepy and dark), a landscaper (to give us ideas for our front yard). But more importantly we were introduced to the VibaBody. Apparently you only have to stand on it for 10 minutes a day and you will be the fittest person in the room.

You stand on a plate that is vibrating super, super fast and that is supposed to make your muscles work hard and yada yada yada.  It actuality you stand on the thing and your booty bounces around like there's squirrels in your pants.  (Phineas and Ferb?  Anyone? Anyone????)
Sadly I don't think it does what it promised but it is fun to stand on and in conjunction with some exercise it may help maximize some work-outs. What it really boils down to is Jason said "no" and I agreed.

Alway's learning.....

I taught Mom all about......
and now she has an account.
*****
She taught me all about......

and I am working on getting Jason to buy me one.
But in all honesty I don't need one since I can sit at my computer all day if I need/want to.
*****
We worked with Ansen's class on making Wild Things.
I already have 3 and my mom had 4.  We don't need any extra.

Pret-ty exciting if you ask me.

Fast friends

Last time Grandma visited Rammy wasn't so sure about her.  This time he was all over her.  In her lap, scratching her bedroom door, sitting and reading with her, waking her up in the morning.  I'm sure she loved the last one.  Silly dog.

The Music Man

Jason is a musical guy.  He is a musical guy who was severely in need of a ukelele.  Not any more! The kids and I got him one last week and we are so excited to hear him plucking around on it.
He's already working on his first song and we can faintly hear the Hawaiian waves crashing in the background.  Aloha!

My life in texts

Just a few fun ditty's that came across my phone this week.
#1:
*My Ma and a surprise visit.
Followed up with ice cream at McDonald's.
 #2:
*My husband taking pictures of strangers at the airport.
But really? If you're sporting a mullet you deserve it.
 #3:
*My sister learning how to use drawings to communicate with me.
(Let me decipher: I miss you {my very favorite sister and person in the whole wide world} and our bath tub talking.  Just to clarify we were never in the tub at the same time.  It was usually me soaking and her sitting on the edge dropping her phone in the water.  And for the record Jamjam I miss it too.)  Who needs privacy?  Followed by a picture of us in our Warrior Dash get-ups.
#4 My Sister again.  This time a convo between me and her and our mother because when your sister sends you a picture of her butt your mother has to get involved and ground her.  I don't care if she is 23.  FYI: Ma declined that picture Jamie offered to send to her.
 #5 Me!
All I have to say is I felt so dumb after I read what I just sent.
Technology -some day's I wonder why I'm allowed near it.
Happy texting!

Braley's 1/2 birthday

Braley's 1/2 birthday was on Tuesday she was lucky enough to celebrate with her class (and Grandma!) on Wednesday.  We sure do love this 9 1/2 year.  Wow!  She's almost double digits.  Love this girl!
