Game day

This outfit can only mean one thing.
The Ducks are playing.
The season opener was last night and I'm such a lucky duck (ha,ha..get it?) that I got to go.  I get dibs on the early games of the season because I am much more fun to be around if I am not a)getting rained on and b)freezing my bum off.  Therefore my happy, warm self was at the game with the die hard "it never rains in Autzen" fan.
We made it just in time for the team to enter the stadium.

The game was great. The Ducks stomped on South Dakota. It's so fun for Jason to have these tickets and to get to go with him.  This year each little of ours is going to a game with him and they/he couldn't be more excited.
Go Ducks!

This evening

A few families from our new ward got together at Scout Lake tonight for dinner and a swim.  We are super thankful they invited us.  It's still weird to not know everyone at church and not bump into a bunch of friends while out and about.  It'll come. Such a pretty night and pretty sight.

Movie nights

While Grandma was visiting the kids decided they needed to have a few movie nights with her. Thank heavens she brought Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy with her because those movies, my friends, are cinematic masterpieces.
Materpieces, I tell you.
Don't even for a second listen to Jason or even my children when they tell you the movies are cheesy or that the acting is horrible. Don't believe them when they say the music is "lame" and that the dancing mummy didn't scare the pants off them, like it did me. Know that they are rejecting the truth when they say Mr. Boogedy's face is funny not terrifying.
They're liars.
They were scared.  I was the brave one.
Hats off to you Wonderful World of Disney for making such an awesome movie AND for making a sequel.
Bravo.

Remember when

Remember when I told you we had family pics taken for our anniversary?  Well here are some:

You don't even have to tell me how good lookin' we are cause I can see it for myself (humble, right?)  I can't wait to get a few of these puppies up on my new walls!

Cline Falls and sick

About 10 minutes away from our house we have this river that has provided us with quiet a bit of fun and relaxation this week.  Its not super deep but the water runs quick and it makes for fun exploring and lounging.

Braley woke up not feeling great but wanting to go lay in the sun for a while. Who can blame her? If you are going to be sick do it somewhere warm.  We were only there a little while when the throwing up started. Poor girl.  I don't even know where she's picked up the bug but she feels pretty crummy.
She is currently laying on the floor of her bedroom sound asleep. When I tried to move her all she said was "No, the floor is way more comfortable than my bed."  Girlfriend must be sick because i know for a fact that isn't true. Cross your fingers for her that this is just a quick bug and she's feeling good soon.

Lake Billy Chinook

For Braley's birthday and Grandma's last full day with us we decided to do something special.  We rented a ski boat and went to Lake Billy Chinook for the day.  Since moving to Central Oregon we have been trying to decide if we should purchase a camper or a boat first (let me tell you--EVERYONE here seems to have one or the other or most likely both).  After a day on the lake I think the family is pretty one-sided on what we'd like: a boat.
It was a little chilly to begin with but the sun was shining bright and we warmed up soon enough.

Our fearless children took to the chilly water early in the day while us more mature boaters waited a while longer.
Jason was in charge of pulling everyone around on the tube.  He showed no mercy. It was insane.  At one point as the girls were being flung from the tube Kahau barrel rolled as Braley cartwheeled over her on the top of the water.  Thank goodness they are tough!  I'm pretty sure the bruises on my shines are a reminder of Jason sending me flying a few times myself. It was so fun!

Ansen wasn't too sure at first but it didn't take him long to figure it out and look like a pro.

The kids and I decided to bridge jump.  I hadn't done it in years....since my summers in Idaho so I was excited.
It took about 5 minutes for the kids to gather their courage but then they all did it.  I fully expected the girls to do it no worries but they were the ones who hesitated a bit.  It was Ansen who when it was his turn charged off the bridge.  I was so proud of them.
Speaking of proud: look at my ma!  What a cool grandma! She could hang with the best of them out there on the lake.
Braley and I won the prize for the craziest hair.
And would ya look at this view?

A little birthday cheesecake and we called it a great day.
Now we have a 2nd "must see" to add to our list when visitors come!

Smith Rock

This post is sure to be picture overload.  Sorry, not sorry in advance.
Guys--this place is 15 minutes from our house.  Isn't it just absolutely breathtaking?
When we asked a few people in our new ward what was fun to do around here we kept getting the response "You should check out Smith Rock. Go early and bring water."
These people know what they are talking about.  The hike to the top of Smith Rock is unbelievable.

As always, dad had a nature lesson for everyone.

And we climbed and scaled and tucked ourselves into all kinds of neat places.

Getting to the top was hard work.  It was a mile almost straight up. It felt like 5 miles straight up to be honest but I know we would all do it again for that view.

 Happy, hot hikers.

The trail we took to the top is called Misery Ridge and whoever named it was a realist.  We were miserable-but in a good way.  There didn't seem to be enough air to breath.  That's okay tho, we managed.

Monkey's in from of monkey rock.

The kids were rewarded with a dip in the river.  The water was so nice if it had been appropriate I would have ripped my shirt off and gone swimming too.  Dang my appropriateness.
This hike was so beautiful.  The day was perfect and the company could not have been better. Now we have found our "must  see" when family and friends come to stay.
