September 11th

Jason and I, AND 15 (and counting) of our closest friends, are running the Northwest Warrior Dash on September 11th. It's gonna be frickin' awesome. We will be repelling down a steep incline, swimming through a bog, running through a mossy forest, jumping over fire plus 7 other obstacles!
This is going to be so fun!
They promise it's going to be the craziest frickin' day of your life. They just might be right.
Find out if there is a Warrior Dash in your area!

additional note: 7/2: we just roped Jamie into running with us. Awesome.

Get-a-way

Jason had a conference in Jackson Hole and I decided to tag along.
We both love Jackson. It's fun and touristy. Sometimes its fun to be a tourist. It's lots of fun to be a tourist in Jackson.
We stopped in the center of town to get our picture in front of the famous antler entry. I'd show you the picture but it really doesn't flatter us so just use your imagination.
The views are to die for here. You are surrounded by the most breath taking mountains.
It is just beautiful.
As usual, I always try to make one new friend while on vaca.
Meet my new friend Sasquatch.
I know, he's hot.
And, because we are talking about me for a quick second and since I am about 100% sure I am going to have skin cancer when I am older...I tanned every chance I got. Here I am tanning on the ski lift.
Jason and I raced down the Alpine slides. I lost. Bad. Its okay...Jason is a speed demon and he won fair and square.

We went to the top of the mountain and then climbed to the highest point I could find. I love feeling like you are on top of the world.

We played mini-golf and I won. I even got a hole-in-one, that's how good I am.

And, of course, we ate really well. I had steak while Jason had Elk. Mine was better. We also had yummy deserts. It's not vaca without yummy treats.
It was nice to go back to somewhere we both love. In fact, it's where we got engaged. We were able to visit with family and relive old memories!
Yay, Jackson!

Oregon Coast rules

1. When swimming at the coast in Oregon, do so in a swimming pool. Do not, unless you don't honestly mind hypothermia, think about swimming in the ocean.2. When at the beach play, play, play.
Just not in the water.
To repeat: play in the sand...

NOT in the water!

3. Always stop at the swings.
Swing as high as you can then jump!

4. When you are done outside hurry and go back inside and swim.

Ohhhhhh, Seaside...

We love you.
We love how there are so many fun things to do. We love how we can always stop at the Hat Shop and find a hat to suit each family member.
For instance, Jayden loves herself some mullets.Braley loves white girl weave.
And the boy....he loves Jack Sparrow.
We also love the carnival rides you provide.
The bumping and spinning and whirling is tops.

Not to mention the arcade. It's the only arcade we ever go to. All the rest are lame compared to the unlimited race car and ski ball stations you have!
The Promenade (or "the Prom" as we local visitors call it) is awesome.
The miles and miles of scooter-able walkways is like a concrete heaven.

And who can go to you, dear Seaside, without making a stop at your Carousel?

And last but certainly not least: your food! Elephant ears and Carmel corn for breakfast, lunch and dinner. How could life get any better.

Ohhhhh Seaside we love you!

*Ahhhhhh*Summer*

Gave the kiddos some breakfast this morning and told them to go sit at the table. This is their version of "the table."
I can't say I blame them.
Looks just about right to me.

Nothin' better.

Beavers game, take 2

School's out and we are on summer vacation! To celebrate we went to the Portland Beavers baseball game tonight and guess what? No rain! In fact it was amazing weather. Hallelujah! I think maybe, just maybe, summer weather is on it's way to Portland.
It was a night game and the kids loved the experience. We got Grandma and Grandpa in on the action because who doesn't love a baseball game (and a good hot dog)?
Upon entering the park, the kids were each given a new baseball mitt. Score! Then life got even better when they were able to have Lucky the Beaver sign their new gloves. Let me tell you...life couldn't get much more exciting. Their goal is to take their new gloves to Fenway this summer and have the Green Monster sign them as well. Sounds like a plan to me.

Ansen and his new Lucky glove.
Tell me these three aren't just too stinkin' cute.
Go on, I dare ya.
They waited and waited for a foul ball without any success. It's alright though. There were some seriously fast fouls flying into the stands.
The ladies did lots of happy dances every time we got a hit. I think their moves (and there complete lack of coordination) had everyone around us smiling.
Braley with her "spirit fingers"
Sigh....heaven help us all.
In the end we lost. Everyone was okay with it except for Jayden. The girl is so competitive! She wanted a rematch, as she called it, right then and there. I told her rematches don't happen after 9 pm. She was not happy with my answer.
We are excited to take in a few more games this summer especially on July 30th at Fewway. Yawkey Way here we come!!!!
