MA!

Look! What! I! Found!!!!!!!
I don't know when it is but I do believe we may have to plan our Forsberg Family Reunion around this.
Call me.

Ruby Falls, Georgia

Our 2nd stop of the day was just another 10 minutes down the road at a place called Ruby Falls.  Only this time the water fall was 1,100 feet under ground in a cave. So. freaking. cool.  A much as roller coasters and the beach are up my alley so are things like Rock City and Ruby Falls.
After you ride an elevator 26 stories below ground you meet your tour guide and 25 or so of your new bff's and you all go traipsing around underground.  Fun, right?  Yes and no.  Fun because it is a giant science field trip with so many neat things to see and learn.  Not fun because those "new friends" of yours happen to be ridiculously un-mannered Southerner's with gas problems walking right in front of you.  It was not fun y'all.  Let's just talk about them for a second.
First, I love a southern accent most of the time.  However, I do not love a southern accent when you are constantly hearing about "tabacca" and people speaking in serious double negatives such as but not limited to sentences beginning with: "He ain't got no....."
Second, as I mentioned one person in the group had gas and not just a little.  The man thought it was funny and apparently so did his wife who was walking right behind him.  She kept saying to her sister-in-law, "He's got the poo-poo's." Then they would laugh.  People we were 1,100 feet underground.  Be kind and stand in the back of the line.

The cave itself was very cool. So many formations and things to see.

After walking a 1/2 mile or so you  come to Ruby Falls and it is amazing. Where does the water come from?  It's just water the mountain has collected and it's beautiful. It is the biggest underground waterfall in America and it's breath taking.

It is so fun to go and see all there is to see in our country and I feel very fortunate to be able to experience these things....even if I have to put up with rude southern gas.

Rock City, Georgia

After riding 15 roller coasters in 5 hours we really had to get moving down the road to Chattanooga, Tennessee where Jason needed to work the next day.  I'd like to say this:  I LOVED Chattanooga. It was such a neat city.  It had that not to big/not too small feel and there is so much to do there.  A zoo, aquarium, Children's Museum, a huge sprawling river, trains & music festivals.  Just a cool place. I told Jason we should buy a summer home there and hang there on the river July and August.
Anywhooooo....
After Jason finished his work for the day we had a little time to poke around and look at some local sights.  Since it was 95 degrees out we opted for a place with some shade.  The place we found was 10 minutes outside of Chattanooga and just across the Georgia boarder.  It was call Rock City.
Sound lame?
It totally wasn't.
It was the perfect walk among huge rock formations that had streams and waterfalls and gnomes.  Yes, gnomes.  Originally the piece of property belonged to a family who decided to make a nature park out of it.  Today there are paths, bird shows, bistros and, again, gnomes everywhere.

Needle's Eye was a tight squeeze but we made it through.

Mmmmhmmm, Gnome Valley.  Very silly but if the kids were with us they would have loved it.  Plus if you can't find love in your heart for a gnome now and then you have no heart at all.

One of my very favorite things about the south is that there are rocking chairs everywhere.  People just sit and rock and rock and talk and talk.  For someone like me it is a good reminder to sit and slow things down and just relax.  It's rather soothing.

Fat Man Squeeze.  It was even tighter than Needle's Eye.  We both made it....barley.

Very fun view.  Can't look at 7 states from 1 view point on the west coast that's for sure.

Not a bad view I'd say.

It was really a great little walk with some beautiful scenery.  When you are in Chattanooga next time you must go.

Roller coasters!

I was able to travel with Jason this past week.  He and I went to Georgia and Tennessee.  After fly all day Monday, Jason working a really long day Tuesday and a long morning Wednesday morning in Georgia it was time to hit the road for Tennessee.  Lucky for us on the way to Tennessee the was a Six Flags!  We love roller coasters.  Scratch that.  I love roller coasters and Jason loves me so he does the coasters with me.
We spent a few hours feeling the wind through our hair whilst spinning, turning, climbing, dropping and whipping around.  Can I be honest?  I began to feel a bit sick.  I couldn't handle all the twists and turns like I used to.  I had to take a time out and let my stomach settle.  I'm embarrassed.  But I am just being honest.
We did the sit down roller coasters, the stand-up roller coaster, the lay down roller coaster, the feet free roller coaster, the lap bar only roller coaster.......geeesh!  We roller-ed and coaster-ed all over that park.
It is super fun to try so many unique ways of cheating death.  Just kidding.  It is fun though.  Jason doesn't like that as we come over big drops I lean into them. I just want to see where I am headed.
Jason was such a good sport and probably could have kept riding for a long time more but sadly the park was closing and my tummy was flip flopping.

It was a really fun afternoon.
Do you like roller coasters?
