Eye Opener

Today was the day. Jayden went in and had whatever was on her eye removed. I won't tell you what they did or how grossed out I was. I will just say one word: Nasty. But, thankfully, Jayden did not feel a thing and it was over before we knew it. In order to keep the kids busy while playing the waiting game in the exam room (not my favorite thing to do) we took lots of pictures. Jayden's nervous energy was almost more than I could handle. Who can blame her? I don't want anyone poking around at my eyeball either. She was literally bouncing off the walls because of her nerves. It didn't help that Braley and Ansen kept commenting, "Jayden I hope the don't cut your whole eye out!"
Yep, right there in that little eye of hers was our problem.
Braley decided to take a crack at getting that little bugger out.
No luck.
Jayden inspected Braley. Why not? After all, she is the blind one.
Poor Ansen wasn't sure what was going on but he was a good sport about it.
So the foreign substance has been removed and Jayden still has two eyes. The doctor was a pro and she was a champ. I informed her on the way home that she has used up her 1 random doctor visit for the year and she is not not allowed to be injured or sick in any way until January 1, 2010. Anyone want to place a bet at how long it will actually be and who will be my next random medical mishap?

Fadder's Day

It's Father's Day!
Jason gets to do things his way today!
The kids Love it. Duh.
Wouldn't you love it if your dad declaired today "Eat Ice Cream for Every Meal" day.
And they pretty much have.
Thus far we have experienced minimal brain freezes but the day is only half over.
So Happy Father's Day to the Man of our house,
the apple of our eye,
the cream of our crop!
We LOVE you!

Recital and Recreation

The ladies Spring recital was last weekend. They showed off their sweet moves including front walkovers and back walkovers. Believe it or not but I too was in recital (so embarrassing). I hulaed with my class and really rather enjoyed it.
Jason and Ansen were there to support the ladies of the house.
After all the recital business it was time to play!
The Slip-n-Slide was set up and the kids went crazy.

Jason slicked the Slip-n-Slid and the kids up with dish soap and sent them flying across the yard.
I am happy to report we did not acquire any broken bones in the process.

With recital and recreation out of the way I am personally in the mood for Relaxation.

End Of The School Year

The school year is (finally) over. Can I tell you how grateful I am for this year? I loved our school the last few years but this year was exactly what we needed. A new school, great teachers, excellent support and happy kids. It was really a terrific year. Last week the school held its annual end of the year bbq and the teachers provided the entertainment. Many of the teachers are on a Mexican dance team and they showed off their talents for everyone.
*sorry the pictures are so dark. I couldn't get the flash to work*
The two ladies of the year. Mrs. Fee (front) and Mrs. Van Dyke. Mrs. Fee was Braley's teacher and Mrs. Van Dyke was Jayden's teacher.
Mrs. Van Dyke (left) and Mrs. Rawson (principal)

Our Principal, Mrs. Rawson

The girls are glad to have summer here but are also gong to miss their teacher's. As much as we are going to miss them and the routine of school....HURRAY for SUMMER!

31

Today I turned 31. It was the best. This morning we attended the baptism of our good friend (and Braley's bff) Lisa. My 3 kids along with Lisa and her siblings and cousins sang When I Am Baptized. My heart just melted. To hear children sing with enthusiasm and love for Jesus Christ and the blessing of baptism, there is nothing sweeter. Nothing.
What more could I ask for?
A BBQ with a fun group of people. Yummy food, fishing and talking story. Nothing better.
What more could I ask for?
Pink gifts galore. And not just any pink...BRIGHT pink! Pink IPOD, pink wallet, new pink church bag for my new calling (Primary Presidency...I wonder if the other ladies like pink too), a homemade shirt (not pink but totally bedazzled) and a griddle to possibly make some pink pancakes?
What more could I ask for?
....oh and a mani/pedi with pink sparkles!
( I was the queen today!)
A fun husband and fun kids.

What more could I ask for?
31 is going to be pretty great.
