Off...
to paradise. Be back in a week. If we like Costa Rica (duh, how could we not...) I think we should plan a group trip for next spring. Be safe this week and we promise not come back with swine flu.

Ag. Fest And Good Kids
We took the kiddos to Ag. fest last week so we could experience everything "organic and farm-y." It was really quite fun and we saw the funniest little stage act ever. Meet Karen the trick cowgirl. This lady was a riot. Really, she had us laughing at almost everything she said. Her tricks were pretty great as well.
Karen is 54, hails from the great town of San Fransisco, and she is Jayden's new idol.
The kids now own their very own trick lasso's. Daddy is such a push over.
Braley, on the other hand, met herself some Rodeo Princesses and now has a new life ambition.
Mmmhmm, Rodeo court here we come.
(Look at Ansen's face. He did not want to be standing there. At all.)
Exciting news! Braley is student of the month. That's right, I am bragging. Deal. My kids are the best. Braley is smart, kind, sassy, and one heck of a good girl. Way to go Braley.
Mmmhmm, Rodeo court here we come.

Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival
Every year we go and every year I call my mom and say "some day" I will bring her to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. This year I made good on my promise. While mom was visiting the fields were in bloom and they we beautiful.
With a name like Ansen Sjors you better believe that this kid is right at home in a pair of wooden shoes!

Possibly a talk about NOT picking the tulips...or why the tulips are all girlie colors.
Admit it. They're dang cute.

Admit it, we're cute too.

Jayden Kahaulani
Braley Johanna
....and the boy.

"So young man, if everyone wore wooden shoes the environment would be saved. Who needs Nike's when you can have these comfy clogs?"

Taking 5 and enjoying the nice weather.

My three favorite kinds of tulips.
I just love the Tulip Festival. The acres of color always indicate that spring is here. Tulips are my favorite flowers because they are so simple, beautiful and they remind me of my family (especially my Oma and Opa).
Now that I have made good on my promise to get Mom out to the Tulips, I promise I will get you out here for Oktoberfest Dad.
Start practicing your Chicken Dance.

These Two
They are the best of friends...most of the time. Some days are a little harder then others but they always have each other's back. They love to snuggle. When they are getting along, that is. Sometimes I worry that they are too close in age and that they will "out grow" each other. For right now they really like each other. I love that.
No matter if its a good day or tough day, they'll always be lucky to have a sister.
(even if they are getting a big sloppy kiss planted on them!)

My Family And Me
A night out turned into a huge photo op. Enjoy my beautiful family. They are everything to me.
My husband:
Easter 2009
We had wonderful day. We took all the pressure off of the day and just intended it to be relaxing. And you know what? It was great. No huge dinner, hoards of people or chaos. It was heaven. With Jason on the road all the time this is just the day we needed.
Miss Jayden
Miss Braley
Mr. Ansen
The Easter Bunny even brought a basket for Jamie and her friend Rachel...those lucky ducks.
Our eggs were a last minute deal this year but we did have f-u-n!
While we know the eggs and the baskets and candy are all fun, we are so grateful for the real reason of Easter. We are grateful our Savior and his sacrifice. We are humbled by his Resurrection and thankful for his love for us.
We hope we each of you had a wonderful day.

Soaking It In
Record highs in Portland this last weekend everyone! The sun was out and it meant business. We made sure to be in the backyard in our bathing suits soaking in the warmth. Besides loving it we were also trying to turn my pasty white kids into golden brown kids. They mostly turned a lovely shade of pink.
The ladies decided that over sized sunglasses are not only for the rich and famous but also for the young, beautiful and broke.

As you can see we were also working on our poses for the Mr Universe Pageant. I think the boy definitely has a chance to go all the way with those beefy arms. You could totally take down a two year old with those guns. Ka-Pow!
And yes America, Jamie has taken the plunge and started the Twilight series. I told her we wouldn't rent the movie unless she tried to read the book. She is hooked, on book two and didn't love the movie as much as the book. I approve of her assessment and therefore will still let her live with me. Had she not liked the book I may have had to ask her to leave.
