Good. Grief.

We head to Europe soon.  I've been trying to get these yahoo's ready for the trip.  It's not going so well.  The only thing they are interested in is the fanny packs.
They're total Euro trash.

All we do is eat

At least that is what it felt like last weekend while we were vising in Woodburn.  To be honest, it was ridiculous.  We ate so much.  But, it was also yummy so...there's that.
We started off with tacos because--well, did you think we wouldn't?

Then after we went to the wedding reception of an old babysitter of ours we hit up Hawaiian.

The next day we went to the temple withthe youth from our ward.  Afterwards we did more eating at an all you can eat place.  Good grief. by now we were really to burst but we just kept going.
Sunday on our way out of town we stopped by our favorite ice cream shoppe.  It is soooo good.

Couples hike

It was a sunny, warm day and I needed to get outside.  Thankfully Jason decided to come along and make it a mini date.  We found a new hike close to Smith Rock and the views were just wow!

Annnnndddd this hike had nesting bald eagles, which we saw. So dang cool!

I like him!

New hair

Sometimes getting your hair cut and colored makes you feel like a million bucks.  And I do. It's just what I needed to distress a little.  Shorter and lighter and I think it looks cute.
Fun little story that has nothing to do with my hair but I'll share anyway.  We are going on a trip soon and I thought I'd do a little tanning pre-trip so I don't burn. While I was in the bed the other day I heard a buzzing and felt something climbing on my right outer thigh.  I looked down and saw a bee.  No big deal.  I went to brush it off and instead of flying away it hit the side of the bed and ricochet back towards me. I roll away and let me tell you, that was a bad idea.  It flew under me and stung me on the bum!  Stuff like this only happens to me!
Have a good day!

Lost in the shuffle

Just random pics that were either sent to me or I just happened upon.
These two.  Typically they are the 2 that never fight.....not lately though.  So when they are smiling together, it's a good day.
Ansen at the sock hop with a bunch of his friends.

And at his blue and gold dinner.
Rediscovered this little gem this week.  Couldn't pass up the chance to share.

Haircut/color time

It's time for a change. I have an appt the middle of this week and I still haven't decided whats going to happen.  My hair is the longest it's been in years and I like it longish but I feel like my face is looking way too long so, I may be headed back to short. Who knows?

So many options.  I just don't know!

VanDenBerghe's

Last week my cousin, Shelby passed away. He was my Aunt Deirdre's son and was in his early 40's.  It is all so sad. Shelby was living in near Salt Lack City so my mom and 6 of her siblings headed to Utah for the funeral.
Deirdre, Mickey, Blaine, Robin (mom), Claire, Amy and Kyle.  Uncle Reed (He fits between Mom and Claire) and Nona (she'd be on the end next to Kyle) weren't able to make it. Even though it was a tragic reason they were all together, I'm sure it was great to be with one anther. And to be there for Deirdre must have meant the world to her.
Here is a picture of Claire, Amy and Mom with Aunt Lila(L) and Aunt Hendrika(R). How great that they got to spend time with their Aunts.

General Conference Weekend

Conference Weekend started out with these two yahoo's working hard on headstands.

I had to get in on the action.
We enjoyed conference and we even had an avid note-taker.  She was fun to watch.
We spotted Scott during the opening song!  *Whew* Last conference it took us til the last session to find him.  This was way better.
When she needed a break from note-taking she worked on headstands while listening.
Between sessions Dad and Ansen took out the old busted fence so that next weekend a new fence can go in.
I have big kids, I know.  But I still want to do somethings that we did when they were little to celebrate the holidays. Thankfully Braley and Ansen wanted to decorate Easter eggs with me.

We did the old stand-by of dipping and dunking and we also tried a new paint-in-a-bag method.  I loved it. I was more creative and cleaner.  The only negative was the eggs took forever to dry.
It was Easter. We took this picture last year while we were hiking in Bryce canyon and I just love it.  To me, this is what tomb must have looked like.
The Easter Bunny dropped by.  He brought some candy, hid some eggs and each kido got an outfit.
Ansen wrote the Easter Bunny and he was nice enough to respond.
The bunny was pretty simple this year and the kids didn't seem to mind that at all. Of course, he did hide eggs though!

Between sessions of conference Jason took us for a drive out on the Crooked River.  He took us to a camp that he would go to growing up.  We took a walk and had some lunch and we wanted to stay longer but it was super cold.  It looks as though our beautiful weather has gone away for a bit.

We had a great weekend just relaxing, soaking in the talks and enjoying being with each other.

Eater Sunday

I'm grateful for the resurrection of the Savior of the world. I celebrate His triumph over death. I know that He lived and still lives today.
Happy Easter from our family to yours!
