Confession

I did something dumb.  Well, I don't know if dumb is the right word, cause I'll most likely do it again because I'm vain but-let's be honest-I'm just stalling so I don't have to tell you. How's that for a run-on sentence?  (See? Still staling.)
Okay.
I waxed my upper lip.
(Did I really just say that? Yep, pretty sure I did.)
I didn't actually do the waxing.  I went somewhere and they did it, and now I have these dumb little bumps there that aren't supposed to be there because it was a special "European" wax.  European or not, I didn't like it.  I went somewhere different than my usual eyebrow place and that's what I get for deviating off my normal course.  A bumpy lip.
Moral of the story.  Stick with what you know when it has to do with something like a few unwanted hairs.
The end.
p.s. notice how there are no pictures for this post?  That's on purpose.

1st birthday

Little Miss Keily had her fist birthday last weekend and we made the quick trip up to Tri-cities to celebrate with her.  Cause let's  face it, you only turn 1 once.
It was a fun trip and even though it was 9 hours in the car for just one day, we'd do it over again in a heartbeat.  Happy 1st birthday Keily!

It's that time of year.  Baseball season has begun and our boy is super excited. He had a double header last weekend and he did awesome.
Here's proof if you don't believe me:

See? I told ya.  He's awesome.
And here is his BIGGEST fan cheering him on.
This season is going to be wicked awesome Ansen!

Student of the Quarter

She's one smart cookie and that's just one of the many things we love about her.
Braley got student of the quarter for the 3rd quarter and we got to attend a celebration dinner (Mexican food-yum!) to mark the occasion. Her teacher, Mr. Benassi had so many wonderful things to say about her and that just makes us happy.
We are super proud of you Braley.  Keep up the great work.  You rock!

Honeymoon hike

"let's go on a nature hike" said my brother.
"There are cool things to see."
And away we went.
We saw armadillos, tortoises, bald eagles, osprey, and this guy:
 A huge rattlesnake!
Then we got to the beach and found all types of shells, crabs and wild dolphins.  The dolphins were so close that we could hardly believe how lucky we were.

We saw so many things that next time we are visiting Honey moon is on the top pf our list.

Adios popcorn ceiling

When we left for Florida we were so stinking excited to leave our house behind. Not because we don't like it, but because we knew we would like it even better when we got home.

While we were gone we had someone come in and scrape the dingy, ugly popcorn ceiling off and add a nice new ceiling to match the one in the new family room. The living room, dining room, hallway and kitchen were all done and it looks so nice.  Now the whole house flows.  Ahhhh, we love it.

We also had recessed lighting put in the living room.  Before the ceiling transformation there was zero lighting in the living room and it was dark and dank.  With the fresh white paint, new lighting and the fact that the ceiling is now a little higher due to the popcorn is all gone, the room feels more open and welcoming.

It's funny how something like your ceiling can change the feel of your home.

Tarpon Springs: The food

Like I said, Tarpon Springs is a little Greek town.  What can you find in a Greek town?  The most amazing desserts ever.  Seriously.  It's worth the flight to Florida just for the dessert.

 Like I said, heaven.

Tarpon Springs: The sights

Nikki took us to the beach side town of Tarpon Springs. It's a greek town that is know for it's sponges (like the real-deal bath sponges from the ocean).  It's a really cute, funky, cool town. We were the youngest people there by about 30 years and that was fun too. Grandma showed up the night before and it was fun to have her and Nikki and Meadow along for the sight seeing.

 Twins!

Unda da sea

Not actually the sea but the water.  Same thing, mostly.  With my new camera that the kiddos got me for Christmas I can take underwater pics.  Here are a few.  They took about 100 so be glad I just grabbed a few for this post.

(Oh look!  Grandma! More on her coming to visit soon!)

Day 2: Honeymoon Island

Beach combing is the name of the game and Honeymoon Beach is the perfect place to do it.
The kids came home with so many great finds and we even spied some wild dolphins swimming just off the shoreline.

What a beautiful place *sigh*
