Extreme makeover: Trailer Edition

A couple months ago our friends, the Winz's, bought a monsta of a trailer so their family could do more camping. Lucky for us,..being in the market and all..., the Winz's were looking to unload their tent trailer. Not just any tent trailer but a 1971 tent trailer. Yea baby (say it like Austin Powers).
She was lovely just the way she was but we thought it might be fun to give her a little makeover. A little sass. A little pazazz. Today we started the make over. First off...wait let me back up. Right after we got her she was painted black with primer and her top was line-x'ed. Her outside color is still yet to be determined. Jason would like red with flames and I think she should be red with black polka dots....a lady bug! Let's vote! What do you think?
Any and all ideas welcome.
Anywho. Back to today. Today we (Jason) ripped out the indoor/outdoor carpet. We are either going to put linoleum or snap wood down. The jury is still out on that. I suppose it will be what ever we can get a better deal on. So here is our before shot with the green indoor/outdoor carpet.
And here is our after with just the black floor underneath. I'm not going to lie, I didn't hate the black but Jason did so he painted the floor white and now it is crisp and clean until the new floor goes on top. Her ceiling was a lovely 1970's puke green/yellow and we decided to change that up too.
Now she has a white ceiling. Maybe someday she may have those sticky glow in the dark stars on her. We'll see. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I know you are all wondering about her lovely flowery cushions. They are groovy right? We are in the process of choosing fun (and updated) material to make slip covers for them. Again, the jury's still out.
So what do you think? Any suggestions?
We're all ears.

Food, food, food

Jason has to eat differently and so does Ansen. Jason is choosing to change is diet. Ansen has no choice. Jason is cutting back his calories, eating lean meat and drinking lots of water. Ansen is ordered (for real...this has to happen) to TRIPLE his calorie in-take and eat all the starched and heavy foods he can.
Now my fridge is full of Jason's spinach:
Ansen's unhealthy (but healthy for him) granola bars:
Jason's power drinks:
Ansen's weight maintaining drinks:
And a watermelon.
I guess the ladies and I are having watermelon.
More details about Ansen to come. For now we are trying to increase his (nonexistent) IGF-1 count.

Favorites

Here are some random favorite shots from over the past month.

July 2010 rocked!

Goodbye

This was my crew at 5 a.m.
We were at the airport.
We were saying goodbye to Alice.
It was sad.
The kids gave me the silent the whole way home.
Thank you for being a part of our family for the past month Alice!
We love you!

Alice's last day

Boy did we pack in the fun yesterday for Alice's last day.
First we started out the day with WWF wrestling.
Alice totally dominated.

Then, because they were exhausted, Alice and Ansen pretended to nap.
Before breakfast there was also a major water fight out front. 2 super soakers, 3 kids, 1 teenager, and a whole lot of water equals happiness.

Alice gave Jayden, Braley and Ansen---yes, Ansen too---make overs.
Thennnnnn I took my life into my hands and took Alice driving. She was actually very good. She was nervous she was going to kill me and the kids but I would definitely give her the "Safe Driver" award.

Jayden gave her driving 2 thumbs up!
Ansen was kind enough to loose another tooth so that the French mouse would make another appearence....lucky duck.
We thought we would re-live our first day together and we went bowling.
We. were. good.

I love the way Braley bowls. She bowls like Fred Flintstone....so adorable.

We got creative while bowling. Our scores were much better when we twirled and karate chopped our bowling balls.

Side note: Alice got a strike!!!! I'm so proud of her.
Then we ended our day by cooling off and playing in the pool.

It was the perfect day!
